Dr. Ostrowski graduated from a Polish Veterinary School in Wroclaw in 1982. Shortly after he graduated, he and his family immigrated to Canada. After working in general practice for 5 years, he decided to open his own veterinary clinic and in 1998 Nepean Animal Hospital opened its doors.
Dr Ostrowski provides services in abdominal ultrasound and upper and lower GI endoscopies. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but his passion has always been surgery.
For over a decade now, Dr Ostrowski has been repairing canine, and even the occasional feline, knee. In 2015, he went on a course in Tightrope Cruciate Ligament Repair Surgery. He uses a variety of Arthrex anchors (Tightrope, mini Tightrope, SwiveLock, and FasTak) to stabilize the ruptured CCL.
Dr Ostrowski has always enjoyed working with his hands and doesn’t shy away from physical labour. He constructed a beautiful timber log cottage almost entirely by himself. His cottage is his passion. If you can’t find him at work, he is definitely at his cottage working on improvements or fishing on the lake.
Dr Ostrowski also enjoys staying fit and working out.
His wife Zyta is a big part of the clinic’s success. She does day to day bookkeeping, payroll, and helps manage both hospitals. Their son Mike is the clinic ‘s IT manager, on top of his full time job outside the clinic.
