Dr. Ostrowski volunteers his services to a rescue group in the Dominican Republic

While vacationing in the Dominican Republic this year, Dr. Ostrowski volunteered his services for a second time to the AAA dog and cat rescue group. The group runs a spay and neuter clinic in the Puerto Plata area and asked Dr. Ostrowski to help perform some much needed surgeries. During his brief stay, the AAA team spayed and neutered 27 cats and dogs! Check out some photos of his visit below.

Spring is Finally Here!

Keep your pets protected from Heartworms

With the arrival of spring, we highly recommend Heartworm prevention for dogs and outdoor cats.
Heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes in the summer. The disease has the potential to be fatal for your dog and is difficult and expensive to treat once contracted. Preventing the disease before it can affect your pet is a much simpler solution and we recommend seven months of protection beginning May 1st.

History of Nepean Animal Hospital

April 12, 2012

A bit about ourselves

After having researched many different locations, Dr. Robert Ostrowski found a perfect opportunity to open a new veterinary hospital in the busy Greenbank Square Shopping Plaza. Soon afterwards, Nepean Animal Hospital opened it's doors for the first time in October of 1998.

Ever since the grand opening, the hospital has grown in every respect. In 2002, we completed an expansion into additional space acquired from the restaurant next door. We have upgraded our services several times; adding elements such as pulse oximetery, memoprint blood pressure measurement, Electrocardiography, Videoendoscopy, and lately, Tonopen tonmetry. Our staff has also grown from one doctor and one veterinary assistant, to four doctors, four registered veterinary technicians (RVTs), and six veterinary assistants.

Six years later, in October of 2004, we opened a sister hospital in the Chapman Mills neighbourhood of Barrhaven and hired a third veterinarian. We provide a wide range of veterinary services to pet owners of dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs – see the services section of the website.
